re:bourne in Sittingbourne

Could you create a micro-performance for Sittingbourne?  Be quick: applications are due 18 June.

Staged over the weekend of 13-14 August 2010, re:bourne will be a site-responsive festival that will explore the many lives of Sittingbourne. It will take place in and around Sittingbourne High Street from 2:30 to 5:30 on each day. We are now looking to commission a number of interactive interventions to be offered on both event days. Successful commissions will evidence most of the following characteristics:
Inventive and original ideas with strong audience participation
Emphasizes the history, community and/or environs of Sittingbourne, Swale and/or North Kent
Repeatable, mobile, and brief
Takes into consideration the needs of a diverse audience

Selected individual performers/practitioners will be paid a fee of £300 for this work, to include planning, travel and performances on both event days. Performance companies or groups selected will be paid a maximum fee of £500 regardless of the number of company members participating. Please submit a single side of A4 in response to this brief.
Include: Who you are and your experience
Your idea and why it is right for re:bourne
How you anticipate executing the idea on the event days, e.g., number of performances/interventions, how you would approach audiences, any particular staging, materials or support you might need
Please submit by e-mail to Greg Klerkx at gremlin120@yahoo.com no later than Friday 18 June.
